The mission of the Margaret Fuller House is to strengthen and empower youth, families, and community residents. We work to address the economic, social and political inequities that shape the lives and futures of Port/Area IV residents.
The Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House is seeking computer instructors to teach basic and more advanced computer applications to community folks. Classes are usually two evenings a week—each from 6 to 7:30 or 8 PM.
Our basic class is an introduction to how the computer works, email and basic Word. Students attending this class are usually just learning about computers.
Our 2nd class is slightly more advanced and includes more in-depth Word, Excel, Power-point or Access. Usually the class concentrates on one application per session of classes. A session might be 10 to 12 weeks. Students have experience with computers and want to move forward to advance their skills.
We offer a stipend to teachers and also welcome volunteers. An instructor can teach one or both classes and the time and days/evenings can be negotiated. A Saturday morning class is also a possibility. We would prefer to have someone who can offer a year’s commitment.
This is a great opportunity to share your expertise and “give back to the community.”
