The mission of the Margaret Fuller House is to strengthen and empower youth, families, and community residents. We work to address the economic, social and political inequities that shape the lives and futures of Cambridge area residents.
The night basketball program has returned to Area IV, it is now called the Sion Chambers Memorial, Area IV Late-Night Basketball program. The program runs on Friday and Saturday nights from 9pm – 1am through October 1st at the Boys and Girls Club at 119 Windsor Street and is an open-court pickup game which is open to anyone.
The program is staffed by employees from the Boys and Girls Club and Cambridge Police Officers and is only possible due to generous donations from the Pentecostal Tabernacle Church and The Boston Foundation.
One of the goals of the program is to provide opportunities for neighborhood teens to have positive interactions with the police and other adults and professionals. The city’s Emergency Medical Services provider, Pro EMS, will have a crew on hand periodically to speak with kids about a career in EMS. Staff from the Pentecostal Tabernacle Church will also drop in on the program occasionally. Local leaders and businesses are encouraged to stop by.
Please help spread the word and encourage neighborhood youth to drop by and participate or just hang out and watch.
