Introduction to Computers
12 – Week Program with Instructor
Welcome to the Computers. An instructor will assist students in learning what acomputer is, how it works, and how to use basic applications.
We will learn the basics of what a computer is and how it works, including coveringsome of the different operating systems. We will then spend one week each oncovering some basic applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, and makingpresentations. We will spend a few weeks covering the web: what it is, findinginformation on it, creating an email account and using it, and social networking. We willcover some hardware aspects, such as printing, and scanning in pictures and uploadingthem and emailing them, and external storage. We will also talk a little bit about viruses and how to protect against them.
Seating is limited to 10 Computer Workstations
Sign up early to reserve a computer for the 12-week session.Students are also welcome to drop in on individual classes.
