The mission of the Margaret Fuller House is to strengthen and empower youth, families, and community residents. We work to address the economic, social and political inequities that shape the lives and futures of Port/Area IV residents.

Vote for the next Poet Populist!
Celebrate the City of Cambridge’s rich poetic history by taking part in its future
The field has been narrowed. Four poets remain, and they all want your vote to become the next Cambridge Poet Populist! This year, the four finalists are Toni “Bee” Brooks, Irene Koronas, Scott Ruescher, and Jeff Walker. The Poet Populist is elected by Cambridge residents to this unofficial office of the City of Cambridge with a “mandate” to create his or her unique style of poetry-focused events and programs that celebrate poetry and benefit the broader population.
Meet the candidates at the 2nd Annual Poetry Festival on Sunday, April 3, 2011, 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm at Jill Brown Rhone Park (formerly Lafayette Plaza). The Festival is curated by the current Poet Populist, Jean-Dany Joachim, and will feature open-mic sessions throughout the City. There will also be a reading on Thursday, April 21 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Spiegel Auditorium, Cambridge Center for Adult Education, 56 Brattle St. All Readings are free & open to the public.
