The mission of the Margaret Fuller House is to strengthen and empower youth, families, and community residents. We work to address the economic, social and political inequities that shape the lives and futures of Port/Area IV residents.
The Staff and Board are devastated by the loss of Sion Chambers—fellow staff member at the Margaret Fuller House and Street Worker for the Area IV Community. Sion has been an important presence at the House for the past eight years and in our neighborhood for many more. We cannot forget “Big Si”… his jokes… his depth of understanding… his caring for his clients… always checking out what’s happening on the corner… seeing how the kids are doing…accompanying someone to court… helping another with a resume… always having time to listen and support whoever needed him. Sion was the first to know what was happening! Sion was always fun and generous with his laughter and his sarcasm. He sometimes wanted us to believe that he “didn’t care” or was going to “walk out” and never come back! Sion always came back with his big heart… Big Si we are all waiting for you to walk back through the door. We miss you.
