Area IV Community Pride Day
By · CommentsWe’re proud to announce the return of the Washington Street Block Party, Area IV’s community pride day! This year’s event will be hosted by Area Four For Peace, the Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House, and Cambridge Peace Commission. Join us on August 21st from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at Washington Street between Columbia and Fisk place.
The day’s festivities will include a delicious bbq, the Area IV community talent show, face painting, music and lots of dancing! We’ll also be hosting a dessert contest near the end of the day (1:30pm)!
Interested in helping out? Volunteers are needed!
- Volunteer to be part of the setup crew, 9:30 am-10:00 am
- Volunteer to be part of the Cleanup crew, 2:00 pm-2:30 pm
- Volunteer to work the grills, 11:00 am-1:30 pm

Site Updates and New Videos!
By · CommentsThe MFH website is making some exciting new updates. Visit our brand new Monthly Calendar page to see the activities our summer program kids are doing. This week the kids will be exploring Boston’s neighborhoods (August 11th, in the “My Town” field trip to Roxbury) and visiting Farrington Memorial (August 13th)!
You’ll also notice the new In the Community tab. This page has info on other Area IV programs we think you should be in the know about – from the Family Nights in the Park movie screenings to Area IV’s Late Night Basketball program.
We’d also like to give a special shout out to the Groundworks Somerville program; they’ll be helping the MFH kids work on their Cambridge garden plot! Check out their site to see all the amazing work they do.

Event Updates – August 2nd-6th
By · CommentsHere’s a quick look at some of this week’s events here at Margaret Fuller:
August 4th: WGBH will be making a visit to the MFH to host a special preview of their new and improved Arthur and Friends web experience; be sure to check out the current PBS Arthur website. Also on Wednesday, the MFH will be heading to Boston’s Fenway to attend the Red Sox game!
August 5th: Our Summer Explorations kids will be making a team field trip to the Museum of African American History – the kids will also be attending one of the museum’s exciting Archeology workshops.
August 6th: Two fun activities this Friday – a trip to the Franklin Park Zoo and a day of gardening in Cambridge with our friends over at the Eagle Eye Institute. Check out their website! The kids will be planting seeds as part of an ongoing workshop to renovate the MFH’s nearby Cambridge garden plot.
